Senior Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions including firewalls, SIEMs, EDR, DLP, and other security tools.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.

  • Perform root cause analysis of security breaches and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Lead the technical investigation of security incidents and prepare incident reports.

  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and practices.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

  • Participate in security awareness training and initiatives for the wider organization.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles.

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC are preferred.
     

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of network and system security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.

  • Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm), vulnerability scanners, and forensic tools.

  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Solid understanding of security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).

  • Experience in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
